It can be said that Colorado is the best team in the Pac-12, as long as they are playing at home. Tad Boyle and the Buffs are 7-0 at home this season in conference play but it is a different story once they travel away from Boulder.

Colorado is 1-4 away from home in conference this season with the lone win coming at USC, which isn’t something to brag about. However, CU has been playing solid basketball and are coming off a sweep of the Oregon teams this past week to inch closer to the top of the Pac-12 standings. Currently, the Buffs are tied with Cal for second place with an 8-3 conference record. They sit one game back of Washington who is 9-2 in Pac-12 play.

Tonight Colorado takes to the road and travels to Arizona to match-up with the suddenly hot Wildcats who just completed an impressive sweep of their own.

The Cats swept both bay area teams on the road last week, Cal and Stanford, to vault themselves right back into the mix for the Pac-12 regular season championship. Zona is tied for third at 7-4 in conference play and they showed the rest of the Pac-12 that when they get on a roll they are a tough team to beat no matter if they are playing at home or away.

These two teams met once this season in a thrilling nail-biter in Boulder with the Buffs prevailing 64-63 as Arizona missed a three-pointer at the buzzer. Arizona led by four at halftime but colorado stormed back in the second half to retake the lead in a back-and-forth tilt. Kevin Parrom had a chance to win it, after Colorado’s Carlon Brown missed a three on the other end, but it came up short.

The key for tonight’s game is for Colorado to start quickly and not let Arizona build a lead and momentum. It seems, in the other road games CU has played thus far, that they stick close early but then let the home team go on a huge run that the Buffs can never recover from. Colorado needs to play smart, stay out of foul trouble and limit their turnovers early if they want a chance to get a road win in a hostile environment.

Arizona will be seeking revenge tonight on national television so the Buffs better be ready to play or they will get run out of the building.

Tip-off is at 9ET on ESPN.
