Center Kwame Brown of the Golden State Warriors will undergo surgery for his torn pectoralis major and will be out at least three months.
Brown injured his chest Tuesday night against the Miami Heat. He had eight points and six rebounds in 21 minutes in the Warriors win.
Golden State is 3-6 this season and the injury to Brown is not going to help their cause. Brown has averaged 6.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game in 20.8 minutes of playing time.
Backup center Andris Beidrins is expected to take over but he has also missed playing time with injuries. Beidrins is averaging 13.8 minutes, 3.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game.
