Mark Cuban: Good or Bad for the NBA?
Kirby Lee-US PRESSWIRE

Mark Cuban is one of most talkative NBA owners, and perhaps in all of sports. Cuban is not afraid to voice is opinion, right or wrong, and it has resulted in plenty of hefty fines for the owner of the Dallas Mavericks.

I’m surprised it took him this long to get a fine for this season, racking up a $75,000 fine for criticizing the officials of a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder the other night. He was making a comment not just about the officiating for that game, which the Mavericks lost, but for the whole season. Throughout his career, Cuban has been fined over $1,000,000. That’s a whole lot of money.

His own player, Dirk Nowitzki even made a comment saying Cuban has to control his temper and not speak out too much.

So has all of Cuban’s antics throughout his career been good or bad for the National Basketball Association?

In terms of his out-speaking, to me it has been a disgrace. How can he, as an owner, expect his players to control their tempers on the court when he cannot control his own. Cursing at players, officials, and running to the league management is not going to win himself any favors.

Cuban’s antics, though the league will never admit it, has perhaps cost his team games or points. I’m sure those NBA officials have been tired of listening to the yelling and cursing for “missed” calls. No one is perfect, so give it a rest Mr. Cuban.

What do you think of Cuban? Good or bad for the NBA?
