Denver Nuggets Put Chris Anderson On The Trading Block

Wilson Chandler is set to return to the Denver Nuggets shortly, although it is unsure  when he will be able to actually come back to the U.S. The Nuggets want to re-sign Chandler, and the feeling is mutual with Chandler who has said he wants to return to Denver but his return does pose a problem. The Nuggets already have big men in Nene, Timofey Mozgov, the recently signed Kosta Koufos, and are awaiting the return of the aforementioned Chandler. So that leaves one man out and that man is Chris “Birdman” Anderson.

According to a report by Marc Stein of ESPN the Denver Nuggets have made Chris Anderson available via trade if any teams are interested. the second part of the report might be the hardest for the Nuggets, it is unsure which (if any) teams are interested in acquiring Anderson. Anderson has proven to be a valuable commodity to the Nuggets over the past few years and was one of the key parts in their 2008-2009 run to the Western Conference Finals (where they ultimately lost to the NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers).

Anderson could be a good piece to add to a contending team such as the Heat, Lakers, and Bulls just to name a few as he would be able to bring gritty defense and a boost of energy off the bench. Anderson is averaging 5.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game this season.
