Jeremy Evans to Replace Iman Shumpert in Dunk Contest
Russ Isabella-US PRESSWIRE

According to a report from Hoopsword, Iman Shumpert is dropping out of the dunk contest due to a knee injury.

I thought Shumpert was a ‘Shu’ in to win (sorry I had to)  just because he had ‘Linsanity’ helping him.

However, Shumpert is out, and Jeremy Evans of the Utah Jazz is in.

Wait, who? You would have thought that after numerous complains, the NBA would have chosen a more popular name to spice up the dunk contest. However, this isn’t the case, and this could lose the NBA even more viewers on Saturday night.

It may be too early to judge. This Evans kid could end up being an explosive, monstrous dunker. But let’s put it this way: this is the least excited fans have been for a dunk contest in years.
