Portland Trail Blazers Put Jamal Crawford On The Trading Block
There have been many players who have been rumored to be on the trading block and as the March 15 trade deadline approaches there will surely be more. For now though you can add Portland Trail Blazers guard Jamal Crawford to the list of players who have been put on the trading block. According to a report from Sam Amick (and confirmed through a source close to the Trail Blazers) the Trail Blazers front-office has let other teams know that Crawford is now available via trade.
Crawford has not really been a good fit for Blazers head coach Nate McMillan thus far as he is more of a defensive minded coach and McMillan, according to the report, did not really know if Crawford would be able to buy into his system on both ends of the floor. Also Amick points out a very good point, “McMillan’s use of Crawford as the starting point guard over Raymond Felton rather than playing him at his natural off-guard position is causing Crawford some consternation.”
Here is what Amick said exactly about Crawford being available, “with the Blazers (18-18) underachieving and the 12-year veteran having struggled to fit in this season, sources say he’s available.” The team that seems to bein the lead for Crawford is the Los Angeles Clippers. It is unsure if the Clippers and Trail Blazers have had any talks about a possible deal but they did express a great amount of interest when Crawford was a free-agent.
