Lamar Odom Desperate To Return To Los Angeles
Matthew Emmons-US PRESSWIRE

When Lamar Odom got traded to the Dallas Mavericks in mid- December he took with him a bad attitude due to the fact that he felt he wasn’t wanted by a team that he had been with for so long, the Los Angeles Lakers. Odom had a few problems while with the Mavericks and most recently he took some time away from the team (due to a issues in his family) but took, what Mark Cuban and head coach Rick Carlisle felt, longer than usual to return to the team.

Judging by his play this season, averaging career lows in points, rebounds, assists, blocks, steals, free-throw %, and field goal %, Lamar Odom is not a happy camper in Dallas. Odom has long been rumored to have a desire to return to Los Angeles whether it be with the Clippers or Lakers and a big reason for that could probably be his wife, Khloe Kardashian.

But whether or not his wife has anything to do with this is pure speculation but, according to a report (via HoopsHype.com), Odom, confirmed through a source, does want to come back to Los Angeles and he doesn’t care if he’s a part of the Lakers or the Clippers. The possibility of this happening through a trade though is next to zero.

The Clippers, who would be thrilled to acquire Odom, do not have what the Mavericks would want in a trade, that being players with expiring contracts this upcoming off-season. The Lakers, also confirmed in the report through a source, would not take Odom back. Now it is unclear if the Lakers are just simply unwilling to trade for Odom, if his salary would be too much, or if they simply do not want Odom to be a part of the team.

The report states, “the Lakers do not want him”, that sounds, to me, like the Lakers would not take him back under any circumstances. If the Lakers truly do not want Odom back it would be really surprising to me and probably to a lot of other people as well. The Lakers basically gave Odom away and now would possibly have a chance to get him back via free-agency, Odom will be a free-agent this upcoming off-season, and make up for one of the worst mistakes the front-office has made in a long time.
