Orlando Magic Prefer To Trade Dwight Howard To The Chicago Bulls
Once again Dwight Howard is the center of NBA trade rumors and this time the deal involves the Chicago Bulls. There has been wide speculation that the Magic do not want to part ways with Howard, aggressively pursuing Monta Ellis to try and entice Howard to stay, while at the same time believing that, even if they don’t acquire anyone via trade, they still have a great chance at keeping Howard past this season.
If Magic GM Otis Smith does decide to trade Howard it would seem that the Chicago Bulls would be the front-runners to land him. In a report by Ken Berger of CBSSports.com sources indicated that Smith would really like to engage the Bulls in serious trade talks for Howard because he likes the pieces that he would get in return. The Magic, assume, that a return deal for Howard would net them the services of Omer Asik, Luol Deng, Carlos Boozer, and a first-round pick from the Charlotte Bobcats.
But there is one problem with all of this, Howard does not want to be traded to the Bulls. According to one league source Howard is, “telling everyone he’s leaving”. Howard is reluctant to be traded to the Bulls, though, thus halting any talks between the Magic and Bulls, otherwise Howard would probably be a part of the Chicago Bulls by March 15.
