Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls has struggled with injuries this season, but that has not stopped him from being one of the most popular players in the NBA.  Rose has landed the cover of GQ Magazine for the issue that will be released April 24th.

Rose was asked questions about being compared to the greatest ever, Michael Jordan.  He was also asked about his relationship with President Barack Obama, who happens to be a huge Bulls fan.

This is a big honor for Rose.  Often called the Humblebot because of his inability to take credit for almost anything, he’s almost a reluctant star.  That means he does not love all the attention that he gets when he goes out in his hometown.

“Chicago isn’t used to stardom. They still don’t know how to act towards a celebrity, so I always have someone with me. I can have a hat on, glasses, whatever. People still notice me. If I go outside without a hat on, I feel like I’m naked. This lifestyle doesn’t fit my personality.”

He is certainly right about that lifestyle.  Rose does not like attention and that might be an understatement.  He would rather give credit to his teammates than himself.  He also takes blame more than any other player on the Bulls.

The city is lucky to have him and Rose is still growing.  At just 23 years old, he is going to be a star for a long time and the rest of the world is looking forward to watching him.

I bet the Derrick Rose GQ edition is a top seller in Chicago.  Even if the Humblebot hates attention, the whole city loves him.
