Dallas Cowboys Make Jason Garrett New Permanent Head Coach

The speculation for who would be the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys next season is over. On Thursday, the team announced that Jason Garrett has been promoted from interim head coach to permanent head coach. Not all the candidates were disclosed, but team owner Jerry Jones did interview Cowboys receivers coach Ray Sherman and Dolphins secondary coach Todd Bowles to satisfy the NFL’s “Rooney Rule.” The rule states that each team looking for a new head coach must interview at least one minority candidate. “For (owner Jerry Jones) to even consider me, I’m excited about it, flattered about it,” Sherman said. You have to read what Jones said to give up the answer after denying it the sentece before.

Right before the Cowboys’ 14-13 win over Philadelphia in the season finale, team owner Jerry Jones denied that Garrett’s promotion was official, saying “nothing has changed from Monday regarding our coaching status at all.” However, Jones slipped up and contradicted himself as usual in his very next sentences when asked if the new head coach would have input into who the assistant coaches would be next season. “That is certainly something that Jason needs to have input in,” Jones said. “By the way, Jason had input in many of the staff members we have right now.” So he said the new head coach wasn’t decided, but then immediately called Garrett the new head coach in the next sentece. Gosh, you’ve got to love Jerry. However, the team officially announced Garrett’s promotion on Thursday.

Since the Cowboys started this season 1-7 under Wade Phillips, the team is 4-3 through seven games under Garrett. A former Dallas quarterback, Garrett has been the offensive coordinator for the Cowboys since 2007. I have no idea why or how, but Garrett’s offensive play calling has drastically improved since he was promoted to head coach. For whatever reason, I hope he keeps it up since he’ll be around for a while. Oh, and just in case you’re wondering (which I have no idea why you would), Phillips will most likely be the defensive coordinator for the Houston Texans next season.

Who Is going to pick 6the first draft pick in 2011.Whoever picked julius jones over stephen jackson that went to the rams.Maybe should stay clear of the draft choices this year.then again you can’t get it right all the time, can you?Theres a larger issue at hand than dallas cowboy’s defense sluffing off this year. Was wade phillips completely to blame. No; I once saw either harvey martin,or too tall jones.Pick up the field goal kicker in the air.Scaring the hell out of that kicker.I don’t think he missed anymore field goal kicks after thatAs the owner must trust the judgement of the head coach, unless his method spirals.so must the head coach show some confidence in their coordinators.Defense failed miserably this year(Minus demarcus ware)Answer;Dave wanstadt.Like Jason garrett he knows the cowboy system.Offensive line you have given the cowboys many great memories. And thanks for the memory’s.Maybe brett favre will start up a summer recruitment camp. For Football Anonomous. For those who can’t break the addiction. And refusal to understand when its time to pass the torch. We need leaders on the team like john kitna was this year.My football hero is jason witten. And it would seem that most would be led by his example. But apparently not. These kids apparently haven’t graduated to adulthood status yet and still have to be told when, how, and why they should perform. Its time for tony romo,And jason witten to be that force to be reconded with.Dallas has the easiest schedule in football next year. With an N.F.C. East Division the weakest in years. If they don’t run the table next year.taking away the miami dolphins undeafeated system,And winning the superbowl. They are still not ready for prime time. As”America’s Team”again.Necessary drat picks Offensive line(No more false start charlie’s)Safety,And cornerback.Terrence newman Coming from wichita kansas.I’m a big fan of K-State And You.But 2011 needs to be your claim to fame.Your Deion sanders moment in the sun.without the cocky attitude.

I’ll be glad too see Jason get the Job.But this team needs rebuilding.Defense the worst of all. That’s where Wade was best at.Now we are looking
for a new one.Can we fine the wright man for the job. That’s a Big question.Jerry thinks he knows everything about Football.Lets see if he can
    Emprove the defence.

    Jerry,
Why do you have to keep copying me ??? Since you got rid of your football talent evaluator brain and coach Jimmy Johnson who put the 3 time champ together in early ninties and then Jerry you tried to get people to believe it was you not Jimmy that did it all that got you those Lombardi trophy’s. I guess I owe you a big thanks Jerry for making me (Al Davis )have another owner(Jerry Jones) look like a total idiot who takes credit for creating a disaster of a franchise
