Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo received some good news on Thursday when results of a CT scan confirmed his punctured lung has healed. Romo suffered the injury during the Cowboys’ 27-24 overtime win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, along with a fractured rib. The healed lung is a good sign and Romo is expecting to play against the Washington Redskins on Monday night, but there’s no guarantee. On Thursday, Dallas team owner Jerry Jones said Romo’s status still depends on his pain.

“Tony certainly had his examination and everything is on go as we would hoped it would be and expected it to be relative to his lung status,” Jones said. “That still doesn’t necessarily mean he’s going to play Monday night, but still that’s on go.”

For those of you who don’t understand Jerry Speak, a translation of Jones’s statement reads as the following:

“Tony’s CT scan results are great, but we expected him to play anyway.”

Naturally, Romo didn’t practice this week, but he was fitted for a protective vest that covers his ribs. The Cowboys signal caller also threw passes while his teammates practiced and still has a Saturday practice and Sunday walkthrough to prepare for Monday’s contest.

Other Cowboys’ injuries include receiver Dez Bryant, running back Felix Jones and center Phil Costa. Bryant suited up, but did not practice while Jones and Costa practiced for the first time Friday.
