The Dallas Cowboys will have to face recently released running back Tashard Choice early and often. On Monday, Choice was claimed on waivers by the Washington Redskins, the Cowboys’ NFC East division rivals. The Redskins recently lost starting running back Tim Hightower for the season with a torn ACL, so the move by the Cowboys comes at a perfect time for them.
Choice dropped down the Cowboys’ depth chart this year, his fourth NFL season, after rookies DeMarco Murray and Phillip Tanner outplayed him in the Cowboys’ 34-7 win over the St. Louis Rams in Week 7.
Despite his consistent desire for more carries and expressed loyalty to Dallas, Choice did admit once via Twitter he was open to playing for another team if it meant more playing time. Now he might just get his wish and a chance at revenge on his former team. The Redskins host the Cowboys on Sunday, Nov. 20.
