Colorado Closing In On Dallas
The playoff race in the Western Conference is really heating up. Dallas had the 8 seed and was controlling their own destiny. Some brutal losses caused them to fall 1 spot out of the playoff race.
Colorado is 6-3-1 during their last 10 games. The Colorado Avalanche lost in overtime to the Nashville Predators 3 to 2 after scoring 2 goals in the first period to blow a 2-0 lead.
Dallas now has 49 points on the 2011-2012 NHL Regular Season. Colorado is closing in on the Dallas Stars with 48 points. Dallas is in 3rd place in the Pacific Division. Colorado is in 3rd place in the Northwest Division.
The Minnesota Wild started the year on a high note. Now the Wild are the 8 seed with 50 points. Dallas has the 9th best points total in the Western Conference with 49 points. Colorado is one point behind Dallas. This game may not mean much now. The game could hold huge implications later in the season if one team gets hot or collapses down the stretch.
The Colorado Avalanche will face the Dallas Stars at 3 PM on NHL Network. I will do a slideshow on the game following the conclusion of the game breaking down the game changing factors in the game.
