The Denver Broncos’ 4th year wide out Eddie Royal played all 16 games last year, even though, he had nagging injuries throughout the season. Battling through the injury Royal finished the season with 59 catches, 627 yards, and 3 touch downs.

Royal’s injury was a difficult one to diagnose. He was listed with thigh and groin injuries during the majority of the season until it was later determined that his hip was causing the problems.

So, when the season concluded, Royal underwent arthroscopic surgery on his hip.

“I knew that something was up and I just didn’t feel exactly 100 percent all year,” Royal said. “And I know that during the season there is going to be some bruises and bangs and nobody is 100 percent healthy. “But it was different.”

He has still not lived up to his rookie season where he produced 91 receptions which is second most in NFL history for a rookie, behind only Anquan Boldin who had 101. His 980 yards and five touchdowns are both Broncos rookie records. He was seventh in the league among wide receivers in receptions, and sixth in the NFL in total yards.

In his 1st career game vs the Oakland Raiders Royal caught 9 balls for 146 yards and 1 touchdown. His nine receptions were the most by a rookie making his debut for the Broncos. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddie_Royal)

Count running back Knowshon Moreno as one of the Broncos impressed by Royal’s willingness to play through pain last season.

“It definitely means a lot,” Moreno said. “Not everyone can play through an injury and go 100 percent like he did. It shows his character and his will, wanting to help this team out.”

I think Royal will become that go to receiver that he looked to be his rookie year. The statistics show that receivers tend to break out in their 3rd year and Royal will be going into his 4th. I will give him 4 years since his 3rd year he was banged up majority of the year.
