Love him or hate him, Denver Broncos QB, Tim Tebow is beginning to prove his critics wrong.

Critics love to point out that his throwing motion is unconventional, is inaccurate, and has a unorthodox playing style. Many in the sports media have even called him a glorified h-back playing quarterback, but Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow is also now 4-1 since replacing Kyle Orton.

The two-time national champion and Heisman Trophy winner from the University of Florida would lead the (5-5) Denver Broncos on a 95-yard drive culminated by Tebow’s 20-yard run with 58 seconds left in the fourth quarter to defeat the (5-5) New York Jets, 17-13 Thursday night.

Tebow would account for 92 of the Bronco’s 95 yards on the final drive and with his 20-yard touchdown rush is now second all-time to John Elway with nine rushing touchdowns.

Elway 33 rushing touchdowns are the most all-time in Denver Broncos history.

While Tebow would finish with another pedestrian state line by completing nine passes for 104 yards, he would also rush for 68 yards.

With Tebow’s latest comeback win, it appears that the Denver front office and head coach John Fox were wise to make the switch from Orton to Tebow.

Under Orton, the Bronco’s were 1-4, and more of a pass-first team as Orton was more of a traditional drop-back quarterback, he always seemed to make a bad pass or throw a costly interception during key moments.

Tebow brings an entirely new and different dimension to the Bronco’s offense—which has also benefited—from Tebow’s dual-threat abilities.

While Tebow has completed a total of 11 passes in Denver’s last two wins over Kansas City and New York, Tebow’s ability to make timely throws and run consistently keeps Bronco’s opponents from having to “load the box” against Broncos running backs Willis McGahee and Lance Ball.

The other beneficiary of the move to Tebow appears to be Broncos wide receiver Eric Decker, who has developed a nice chemistry and has emerged as Denver’s new #1 receiver.

Since Tebow has taken over under center, Decker has caught 12 passes for 196 yards and three touchdowns.

For the year, Decker leads all Bronco’s wide receivers with 34 receptions for 462 yards and seven touchdowns.

With Denver now a half-game back of division leader Oakland—who plays Sunday on the road against the Minnesota Vikings— Denver’s final six games against San Diego, Minnesota, Chicago, New England, Buffalo and Kansas City will determine whether or not “Tebow Nation” was right to scream for Tebow.

If Tebow’s four wins in five starts are an early indication, then both Tebow’s rabid fans and the Bronco’s front office can rest easy in the fact that they—did indeed—made the right choice.
