Calvin Johnson has become one of the best receivers in the league, and with the Lions adding more weapons around him, is he ready to take his game to the next level? I think he is and so does Doug Farrar of the Shutdown Corner.
Johnson says losing “is not easy on anyone” to the Ajc.com as he prepares to hold a youth football camp.
Detroit Lions FB Jerome Felton isn’t just a FB anymore. The Lions are moving him around, giving him reps at tailback. With the Lions having drafted speedy RB Jahvid Best, Felton will most likely be getting looks at the goaline.
Has Derrick Williams worn out his welcome in Detroit? Tom Kowalski seems to think so. The Penn State product has a ways to go to stick with a Lions squad which suddenly finds itself with a lot of offensive weapons.
Amari Spivey has turned some heads at team OTA’s and might be pushing hard to crack the starting lineup.

Former Broncos TE Tony Scheffler spoke to the Detroit Free Press about team chemistry. “I think team chemistry goes a long way, especially when you get to weeks 15,16,17, towards the end of the year. It’s the differnce between winning those close ball games and folding in the second half. I’m starting to get a little bit of chemistry with Matt and I love being in this offense. It’s fun. There’s a lot of chances for guys to get favorable matchups and kind of put the onus on you to step up and make plays”.
Former Lions OL Kirk Barton wasn’t out of work long after the Lions released him. He was claimed off waivers by the Denver Broncos.
Lions DE Copeland Bryan has been placed on injured reserve. Bryan missed most of last year as well with a sprained MCL and is still hampered by the knee injury.
The Detroit Lions have quietly been stock piling talent on the defensive side of the ball. After surrendering 494 points last year, look for the Lions defense to be stouter in 2010.
