Cordy Glenn showed at the NFL combine that he has the mobility and quickness to be a first round pick in the 2012 NFL draft.  The Detroit Lions should consider picking Cordy Glenn the offensive guard from the University of Georgia to improve their aging offensive line.

Cordy Glenn is a huge individual 6’5” and weighing in at 365 pounds. For a defensive line man this is an immovable force to get through. The Detroit Lions offensive line did a poor job of keeping defensive line men from pressuring Matthew Stafford. Stafford did throw for over 5000 yards, however having Calvin Johnson around catching everything insight helped Matthew Stafford out more than his offensive line did.

Having Cordy Glenn pushing back defenders and giving Matthew Stafford additional time needed to make decisions, will only improve the Detroit Lions offense.  Cordy Glenn will also give the Detroit Lions rushing game a huge boost. Jahvid best did the best he could with the offensive line he had. When he received a season ending concussion the rest of the Lions running backs did not produce. The Detroit Lions became a passing offense for the remainder of the season.

Hopefully, with the return of a healthy Jahvid Best and Mikel Leshoure, plus the addition of drafting Cordy Glenn the Lions offense will be unstoppable. Glenn will be pushing defensive line men forward giving Best and Leshoure the needed holes to give the Detroit Lions a running game to complement their fantastic passing offense.  Glenn would give the aging Detroit Lions offensive line instant stability.

Cordy Glenn will not solve all the Detroit Lions issues with their offensive line but drafting him is a great start. Matthew Stafford missed much of his first two season’s cause of injuries before his breakout year in 2011. Drafting Cordy Glenn will help protect Matthew Stafford in the future; this is the smart way to go in the draft for the Detroit Lions.
