It is that time of year again when you need to decide, do I sell my soul to the devil for a championship? Or do I sit back and let the reason ride out with the team I have now. Below is a list of players who could make an impact on your team, without breaking the bank.

QB’s

Tony Romo-Everyone and there mother is down on Romo, he may lose real games but he puts up numbers. Look at his final 6 games since 2007. He is averging 265 yards and 10 TD’s over the final 6 games of the season when fantasy matters the most.

Jay Cutler- Cutler did look solid last week against a pretty good vikings defense.  If he gets time which he has been getting, he looks like a pro bowler. You should be able to buy low on him and watch him all the way to the ship.

Cam Newton- I know he may not seem like a value pick, but more than likely the person that has Newton has another QB, So he may be willing to part with him. His passing isn’t the greatest but you gotta love his 6 TD’s on the ground.  Have you noticed what play they love to run on the goal line? QB Draw. He shows ya the TD’s every time he scores.

RB’s

Beanie Wells- The guy has had a solid year and is flying under the radar, compared to how much you may pay for other RB’s with his production. He ranks 4th in the league in yards per game with a very nice 4.8 ypc, and is not splitting time with another back. What else can you expect from Wells? TD’s, he is tied for 2nd in the league with 6 and he missed a game.

Daniel Thomas- If you are in a keeper league it may be tough to get him, but in a one and done league he could be ripe for the taking.  He has been banged up a little but so has Reggie Bush. He is getting the bulk of the carries and with Reggie Bush known to flop down the stretch, could be solid.
Steven Jackson- Jackson would be considered a bust with how high he was taken in drafts but he has been banged up and the Rams offense not clicking.  There offense is showing signs of improvement and with his 5.4 ypc, and his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield he could be solid.  Owners may be down on him, so you could get for cheap.

WR’s

Brandon Marshall- With everyone saying you should trade him this is the perfect time to get him.  Matt Moore went after him every chance he could get on Monday, and even with Revis showing him everything but hospitality on the Island that he’s made so famous, Marshall caught 6 balls for 109.  If he keeps getting looks you can get him cheap.

Nate Washington- When Kenny Britt went down Nate stepped in as the go-to guy.  He is averging 5 catches for 74 yards since Britt went down.  With games against Houston,Carolina,Atlanta,Buffalo and New Orleans in the future they will be relying heavy on the passing game.

Jermey Maclin- Like I stated in my previous article “City of Otherly love” Maclin is off to a great start and is flying under the radar.  Even Maclin owners are overlooking him, which is why you might be able to get him cheap.  Philly’s offense is going to keep getting better and he is becoming Vick’s go to.

Antonio Brown- His numbers are not the best but he looks poised to breakout.  In the Redzone he is getting the looks but Big Ben keeps overthrowing him. He has already taken over Hines Ward for number 2 on the depth chart and is leading the team in targets, and with defenses focusing on Mike Wallace, he will have a solid chance of putting up numbers.

TE’s

Aaron Hernandez- Every one is in love with Gronkowski but a lot of people is forgetting about Hernandez.  Brady is loving his two tight ends.  Although Gron gets the looks Hernandez has the 6 most catches for tight ends(27) and still is a redzone threat.  If you are in need for a Tight End this guy is worth a flyer.

Jermaine Gresham-I bet your first reaction to this was “Child Please”, but what if I told you he has more catches(25) then Vernon Davis and only 40 yards less(231), and the same amount of TD’s(3). Now do I have your attention? That’s right, and I bet he might not even be owned in your league.  Yes he isn’t the flashy name but either is Fred Jackson.

Tony Gonzalez- Yes he is old,and still loves to party, but he is a guy owners and other people do not value as much. Everyone keeps thinking of the Tony G from the past 2 years but he has 7 more catches (25) 3 less yards(318) and 1 more TD(4) then Jermichael Finely.

So instead of breaking the bank on a name, take a look at those guys who put up similar or better numbers than someone you would have to give an arm and a leg to get.
