With the NHL season already underway, it is never too early to start scouting the waiver wire. Below is a list of some of talent that can quickly help any struggling franchises:
C Anze Kopitor, LA – “Kopi” is only on this list for owners to make sure that he is not in the free agent pool. The 24-year old is the next great center in the league and already has 7 points in the House that Wayne Built.
C Claude Giroux, PHI – “JCVD” has made parting ways with veteran Mike Richards very easy to take with 5 points in the Flyers first four contests.
RW Drew Stafford, BUF – “Staffy” has 4 four points in four games and will be a great source of points all year on the Sabs’ second line.
LW James, Neal, PIT – The 24-year old has scored 5 goals in Pittsburgh’s first seven games and will be a great compliment to Sidney Crosby once he returns. Neal can score from anywhere inside the blue-line and will be a guaranteed 25 goals this season.
D Marc-Andre Bergeron, TB – A great power play defensemen with 2 goals and 6 assists in the first six games alone. He might not get many minutes, but the veteran will be in when it counts.
D Erik Karlsson, OTT – Karlsson has already helped on 6 goals this season and he looks like a great source of assists from the backline, especially considering the Sens’ surrounding talent.
G Jimmy Howard, DET – “J-Ho” was the perfect sleeper goalie heading into the season and has not disappointed. He has a sparkling 1.63 GAA and the Red Wings’ goal-minder will always be a great source of wins.
