With the NHL season already underway, it is never too early to start scouting the waiver wire. Below is a list of some of talent that can quickly help struggling franchises:
C Logan Couture, SJ – “Lo-Co” has been insanely consistent in recent weeks and the 22-year old already has amassed 19 points on the young season.
C Stephen Weiss, FLA – The veteran has finally stepped up this season with 29 points, including 6 in the last two games.
LW Ray Whitney, PHO – The 39-year old is still making plays in the desert and has racked up 24 points in 2011, including a staggering 7 points in his last five games.
RW Jason Pominville, BUF – Pominville is tied for sixth in the NHL with 18 assists on the year and has been the best setup man for the Sabs this season.
D Kyle Quincey, COL – Quincey has helped on 13 goals and has become more of an offensive minded defenseman.
D John-Michael Liles, TOR – JML has 17 points through 28 games and the veteran is on the ice more than any other defender in T-town.
G Craig Anderson, OTT – Anderson’s 12-8-2 record may not be glimmering, but he gets more starts than any another goaltender and thus more chances to register points.
