Week 23 Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire

By Adam McGill

Fantasy Hockey only has couple weeks left in the regular season, so free agent pickups are more important than they have been all year. Below is my latest compilation of free agents to pickup before your competition:

Small leagues: 8-10 man leagues

C Sydney Crosby, PIT – “Sid the Kid” is back on the ice and has already helped with nine goals in his first five games back. Those kind of numbers are definitely worth the injury risk, especially as a free agent pickup.

LW Tyler Ennis, BUF – No player in fantasy is playing better than Ennis right now, as he has totaled 17 points in his last 18 games.

RW Mikal Samuelsson, FLA – Samuelsson continues to have a resurgent season and the veteran is worth a pickup in small leagues.

D Oliver Ekman-Larsson, PHO – OEL has been on fire with an amazing 6 points (4 goals and 2 assists) in his last six games.

G Devan Dubnyk, EDM – Dubnyk has been a brick-wall in the net with 4 wins in his last six starts.

Large leagues: 10-14 man leagues

C Andrew Shaw, CHI – Shaw has registered 7 points in his last four games and is leading a very strong Chicago team.

LW Chad LaRose, CAR – LaRose has really picked up his play in March with 6 goals this month.

RW Alexander Radulov, NSH – “A-Rad” is back in Nashville after leaving the team to play in Russia for four years.  He scored in his first game back and will be a great free agent find this week.

D Travis Hamonic, NYI – “Ham-bone” has racked up 6 points in the last four games from behind the blue line.

G Braden Holtby, WSH – Holtby has posted two quality stars in net for the Caps, and may be the temporary answer with Tomas Vokoun hurt and Michael Neuvirth seriously struggling.
