NFL Fantasy Football Start ‘Em/Sit ‘Em for Week 3

Reggie Wayne is The WR to Start This Week in Your Fantasy Football League

It’s almost time to figure out which players you’re going to start and which ones are going to ride the virtual pine pony as the games are right around the corner. Here’s a few players at the top points positions who you should definitely consider starting and sitting if you have them on your team for week three’s action in fantasy football.

Start ‘Em:

QB – Jay Cutler Chicago Bears

Sure, Cutler had a terrible game versus the Green Bay Packers last week, but that is one of the reasons why you should him at quarterback if you have him. He’s going to be looking to have a big bounce-back game. Another reason is that he is still one of the better QB’s in the NFL and he will be facing a poor St. Louis Rams defense. So far this season, the Rams are allowing 271.5 passing yards per game (24th in the league) and 27.5 points per game (tied for 22nd in the league).

RB – C.J. Spiller Buffalo Bills

Spiller is off to a terrific start this season, leading the NFL in rushing yards (292), rushing touchdowns (3) and yards per carry (10.1), not to mention he is going up a defense in the Cleveland Browns that is too good. The Browns have allowed 115 rushing yards per game (18th in the NFL) and 25.5 points per contest (tied for 19th in the league). Spiller should continue his great start to the season. Oh yeah, did I mention he also has five receptions for 72 yards on the year as well?

WR – Reggie Wayne Indianapolis Colts

Even though the Colts team is in complete turn around, Wayne is still there and with that, he is easily Andrew Luck‘s favorite target. On the season, Wayne has hauled in 15 receptions (fifth in the NFL) for 206 yards (sixth in the NFL) and a touchdown. Look for him to keep up his play against the Jacksonville Jaguars this week, a team that gives up 230.5 passing yards per contest (17th in the NFL) and 26.5 points per game (21st in the league).

Sit ‘Em:

QB – Matt Ryan Atlanta Falcons

Yes, Ryan is coming off of a huge win versus the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football and is having a stellar beginning to his season (47-67, 518 yards, five TD and 70.1 percent completions). However, he will be going up against a very tough defense in the San Diego Chargers. The Chargers are allowing just 225 passing yards per game (12th in the NFL) and an extremely low 12 points per game (2nd in the NFL). Don’t expect Matty Ice to light up the field this week. I’d sit him.

RB – Chris Johnson Tennessee Titans

Gone are the days of CJ2K. Each year since his incredible season of 2009, his stats have continuously dropped and now he is off to a horrific start (19 carries for 21 yards that’s 1.1 yards per carry). Now this week, Johnson will have to rush against a Detroit Lions defense looking to bounce back after a tough loss last week. The Lions defense is a pretty solid unit too, allowing 112.5 rushing yards per game (17th in the NFL) and 25 points per contest (18th in the league).

WR – Andre Johnson Houston Texans

Johnson isn’t off to the greatest of starts this season (11 receptions for 140 yards and a score) and don’t expect this to be the week that he takes off, either. Johnson will have to deal with a very good Broncos defense that is looking to avenge their loss to Atlanta last week and continue their solid play. This season, Denver is only allowing 208.5 passing yards per game (9th in the NFL) and 23 points per contest (tied for 16th in the league).
