Week 7 Top Fantasy Players

Thomas Campbell-US PRESSWIRE

Week 7 of the NFL season produces the worst possible week for fantasy football players all season with six teams on bye weeks. This takes a lot of the biggest players out of your starting lineup including Roddy White, Peyton Manning, Matt Ryan, Philip Rivers and Reggie Bush. With the Falcons, Broncos, Chiefs, Dolphins, Eagles and Chargers all on bye weeks, options are more limited this week. That doesn’t mean you can’t make the right decision with who to pick up and who to start during Week 7.

There are several good choices out there who may be free agents in your league like Tampa Bay’s Josh Freeman or Buffalo’s Ryan Fitzpatrick at the quarterback position. Vick Ballard may have had a lousy debut for the Colts but he gets a good matchup with the Browns at home. Alex Green proved he could run the ball for the Packers in their Week 6 win over the Texans. A sneaky suggestion would be going out and getting New Orleans WR Lance Moore. While Moore isn’t as good on the road than at home, Drew Brees has a connection with him and with the chance that Jimmy Graham may be hampered due to injuries, Moore is worth a look. Here are my Week 7 rankings and always be on the lookout for injury news. Now, get to work on making pickups and setting your lineups before you have someone on bye starting for no reason. You don’t want to lose that way.

The bye weeks don’t hurt in Week 7 as much with none of the top defenses on bye this week. However, three NFC North teams lead off the weekly rankings with maybe a surprise team or two poking their way into the top 10 because of their matchup. Owners of the Chicago Bears defense are probably very happy the bye week is over and hopefully you didn’t drop them last week.
