Bad news for owners of Jacksonville Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew who was just carted off the field and into the locker room against the Oakland Raiders in the first quarter. His return is doubtful with an apparent left foot injury. The injury occurred on Jones-Drew’s second rushing attempt of the day.
The injury didn’t seem that serious as first, but MJD was seen on the Jaguars sidelines with his foot in the air, surrounded by trainers. Funny thing is, the Jaguars commentators figured it was no big deal, saying that Jones-Drew was getting tapped back up. That was not the case however, as he was then carted off into the locker room.
That’s tough luck for anyone that owns MJD as they were figuring he would have a nice day against a vulnerable Raiders defense. Jones-Drew came out of the locker room in the second half, walking on crutches and his foot in a boot. The Jaguars staff did not release any update on the severity of the injury.
They also lost QB Blaine Gabbert in the first half to a shoulder injury . The Jaguars were up 17-6 over the Raiders when these injuries occurred, and then the wheels fell off. Back up QB Chad Henne played the rest of the way, and the offense could only muster two measly field goals in the second half. Tough break for all MJD owners out there, and I’m sure some of you will have to sell your soul to get Rashard Jennings.
