Fantasy Football: Time To Sit Joe Flacco On Road

Thomas Campbell-US PRESSWIRE

It has been painfully obvious for Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco that playing on the road is not his cup of tea. Flacco struggled again in Houston on Sunday and fantasy owners have reached a point where Flacco is a must-sit anytime the Ravens are on the road.

In Flacco’s last two games on the road, Flacco is 34-for-70 for just 334 yards with a single touchdown and three interceptions. Flacco is completing just half of his passes on the road for the season as well. In the last three games at home, Flacco is 73-for-111 for 972 yards in addition to five touchdowns and two interceptions.

Flacco is regressing it seems in the last few weeks anyway, in what appeared the first few weeks to be a pass-first offense. Baltimore has an off week in Week 8 and then visits the Cleveland Browns for Week 9. Flacco put up huge numbers against the Browns in Week 4, but this game is on the road and I don’t trust Flacco one bit right now when he isn’t wearing the purple home uniform.

If you are looking to find a replacement, and it is quite possible you are after seeing how bad Flacco was against a talented but depleted Houston Texans defense, hit the waiver wire now and pick up Andrew Luck or Josh Freeman to play instead of Flacco for those road games until he can prove he is capable of playing at a high level outside of Baltimore.

The regular season is already half over for fantasy owners and waiting on Flacco may cost you a playoff spot.
