Fantasy Football: Ryan Broyles Out For Season With Torn ACL

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

It has been a wild ride for the Detroit Lions and their wide receivers in recent weeks with Titus Young being inactive for on and off the field issues and now Ryan Broyles will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL. Broyles had become a great target opposite of Calvin Johnson and was really starting to come into his own but will now have to rehab from his second ACL tear in as many years. There are fantasy football owners out there who picked Broyles up thinking that they had someone that could carry them the rest of the season and now that thought is good.

The options as the fantasy football playoffs begin in Week 14 depend on your league obviously but if Young ever returns for the Lions, he would be worth taking a look at again. There are other options if you want to look outside of Detroit like Denarius Moore. Moore has had a great connection with Carson Palmer this season and while he has a rough matchup with the Denver Broncos on Thursday night, he always seems to find a way to make a big play or two and could get into the end zone for you.

It is a shame though for Broyles with this injury as the Lions had a chance for a high-scoring game this week against the Green Bay Packers. Broyles probably had the chance to finish with over 100 yards receiving yards and a touchdown. If you have Broyles, drop now and get someone else.
