Fantasy Football: Start Jake Locker This Week
There are fantasy football owners all over looking to make their teams as good as possible before the playoffs get underway this week. There will be scrambling all over the waiver wire and in free agency trying to get that perfect player. I’ve got a choice for you if you have a quarterback quandary ahead of you. Would this be the week to give Jake Locker a try?
Locker is hitting the road this week taking on the Indianapolis Colts. This matchup doesn’t seem as bad as it may appear as Matthew Stafford showed last week that the Colts can be thrown on. Locker has a solid wide receiver core with Kenny Britt, Nate Washington and Kendall Wright along with the big tight end Jared Cook. I could easily see Locker finishing with over 300 yards passing and 2-3 touchdowns because he will need to throw a lot since it is likely the Tennessee Titans will be behind.
This is the time of year where you have to be dead on with who you start on your fantasy team and there are some big name quarterbacks who have been struggling this season and are not automatic starts each week. I think the time has come to give Locker a chance if you don’t have a great option out there. A lot of fantasy owners have learned over the years that is more about the matchup than the player at times and this would be one of those times. I would make it a point to get Locker.
