Week 14 Fantasy Football Loser: Bryce Brown

In the last three weeks, there has been a mad rush for fantasy football owners to pick up the next big thing for their playoff run and that player was Bryce Brown, who had two amazing games in a row coming into this week’s action. Brown though laid a huge egg during Sunday’s play with just six yards rushing on 12 carries and two catches for six yards. Those numbers sent shockwaves through any owner of Brown and sent most down to defeat.

It was known that Brown would have a difficult matchup against the No. 1 defense against the run in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but no one saw how badly Brown would be for the afternoon. There were owners all over the country pulling their hair out watching their scores change and seeing Brown getting nothing. Brown was being started in every league he was picked up in and while Nick Foles had a great day passing for the Philadelphia Eagles, Brown fell into a slumber.

It is possible that LeSean McCoy returns next week as well for the Eagles so this was likely the last chance for Brown to do anything on a fantasy level this year but Brown is a player that is worth stashing away in any keeper league or drafting late in next year’s draft so you have Brown handcuffed with McCoy. Brown can be a special player with the right opportunity which he just had and if the Eagles were to trade McCoy for some reason in the offseason, Brown becomes a top-20 pick in 2013.
