If you needed a huge running back performance and weren’t lucky enough to have Adrian Peterson on Sunday, there was another great rusher in Jamaal Charles to save your fantasy football day. Charles finished with 165 yards rushing and a touchdown for the Kansas City Chiefs as Kansas City lost to the Cleveland Browns. Charles was a beast in the first half with over 100 yards rushing before halftime.
It wasn’t expected that Charles would have that great of a game against a fairly decent Cleveland defense. If you had Charles playing though, you are looking very good coming into Monday night’s game in all likelihood. Charles has the best matchup of any running back coming up next week as well with a trip to visit the Oakland Raiders before playing the Indianapolis Colts during Week 16 or the championship game for a lot of leagues. There is no doubt that you are starting Charles the rest of the way and I would think that Charles could easily end up with over 160 yards rushing again next week in Oakland.
There aren’t a ton of quality running back options that are on the waiver wire at this point of the season but you are likely going with the players you drafted months ago and Charles is rewarding his owners with great performances down the stretch and now into the playoffs. I would guess Charles would be a high draft pick again next year in the range of the third or fourth round of your draft, which isn’t bad at all.
