Fantasy Football: Dez Bryant Should Be Benched For Week 15

Fantasy football owners may have escaped their quarterfinal games with Dez Bryant, but they may be forced to sit him the rest of the way as Bryant fractured a finger during Sunday’s win for the Dallas Cowboys against the Cincinnati Bengals. Bryant had a very solid game on Sunday, but he is now deciding if he is going to play through the injury or sit the rest of the year.

If Bryant does decide to sit the rest of the year out, he would end a very solid second half of the season in which he was a ton better than he was in the first half. Bryant had 10 touchdowns in the second half of the year and became a must-start player for owners. If you own Bryant, you are carefully watching what is going on in Dallas and waiting to see what will happen. I would temper my expectations for Bryant anyway the rest of the season, considering the broken finger.

There are other options out there that could be more helpful than a damaged Bryant like Jeremy Maclin, Josh Gordon and T.Y. Hilton. I would suggest you go out and get one of them instead to start this week. If Bryant can prove he can play through the injury, then he may be worth something to fantasy owners. It may be time to store Bryant where most owners did during the first part of the season: deep on your bench. There will be many championships decided on this fact.
