It is down to the final weeks of the 2012 season for fantasy football owners and many owners are trying to get through the playoffs on their way to a fantasy championship. There are some players that should be finding a place on your bench this week. I think one of those players should be Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Anquan Boldin.
Boldin has been great the last two weeks with two touchdowns last week but this week, Boldin faces the Denver Broncos, who are in the top-10 for stopping fantasy wide receivers this season. This is not a matchup that sounds very promising even with the game being in Baltimore. Boldin will likely have to contend with Champ Bailey all afternoon which will limit the amount that Joe Flacco looks for Boldin. I think Boldin will finish with just 2-3 catches for only 30-40 yards, which isn’t going to help anyone’s fantasy team.
This is a week to sit Boldin and hope for the best with the bad matchup. There are other options out there like Lance Moore or Pierre Garcon who will get more points that Boldin will this week.
I would be scanning the waiver wire now all the way until the first kickoff of the weekend looking for someone else to start. While Boldin has scored three touchdowns over the last two weeks, I just don’t see the value this week in playing him unless you have a group of stud players around him that will support a bad game. That can be a risky choice when everything is in the line though.
