Over the last couple weeks Dallas Cowboys starting running back DeMarco Murray has continually gotten healthier with each passing week. He is cutting without concern and is finishing his runs. Murray is finally looking like the legitimate fantasy football starter that owners’ sacrificed a top-tier pick for.
Last week against the supposedly amazing Pittsburgh Steelers defense, Murray rushed the ball for 81 yards on only 14 attempts. He also grabbed four passes for 31 yards out of the backfield, which together made his Week 15 performance a pretty strong fantasy showing. Murray did fumble once in the game, but all is forgotten since the team won the game in the end and it was only his drop of the entire 2012 season.
This week the Boys host an embarrassing New Orleans Saints team that not only have the 31st-ranked pass-defense right now, but they also have the 31st-ranked run-defense. Now that Murray is 100% healthy, this should be a game where he can rack up some serious yardage for loyal fantasy owners against an utterly embarrassing defensive unit.
Murray is a great flex option right now in fantasy leagues, especially since most owners have had to move on while the former Oklahoma Sooner has been injured all year. Murray has become a great ancillary fantasy back, but still has value as a starter in deeper leagues.
Keep Murray in your Week 16 lineup and watch as he easily eclipses the century mark. He has also quietly scored a rushing touchdown in each of his last three games and is really running with authority. He is playing strong at the right time for fantasy owners and is one back that can be trusted in the final week of the fantasy season.
Week 16 Fantasy Prediction: 21 rushes, 113 rushing yards, 1 TD
