Fantasy Football: Sit Hakeem Nicks In Week 16

This week brings the final week of the fantasy football season for most leagues with the championship games happening for most. There are players that should find a spot on your bench for this final week and the championship games. There is one player in particular I would be sitting in Hakeem Nicks.

Nicks and the New York Giants face a tough matchup at the Baltimore Ravens, and with Nicks being dinged up anyway, it is not a smart move to be starting him. Nicks has a knee injury and didn’t practice early this week so keeping an eye on his activity for Sunday’s game is key if you are thinking about starting Nicks. The problem is that the Giants offense looked miserable last week in being shutout and now faces a Baltimore defense that needs to keep their team in the game and in the playoff hunt.

I think Nicks will finish with 3-4 catches and just 50-60 yards, which is likely not nearly enough to help fantasy owners out in getting a victory. The time has come to see what is available on the waiver wire in your league and plan accordingly. If there is a better option that can be picked up, that should be your first move and could be the player that replaces Nicks in your lineup.

This is not the week to get stuck on players that you like on your favorite team. The knee injury reduces Nicks’ value this week. Hopefully there is someone on your bench or in free agency worthwhile.
