The end of the 2012 fantasy football season has arrived and in this final week where many championships are decided, there are players that you must start. Vick Ballard is one of those players from the Indianapolis Colts. Ballard rushed for 105 yards last week and now faces the Kansas City Chiefs, who have given up the ninth-most fantasy points to running backs this season.
Ballard’s contribution comes strictly from how well he has been rushing in recent weeks and with Donald Brown now out of the season and the fact that Delone Carter will also likely be out this week. Ballard in turn will get the goal line carries as well, which just increases his point potential for the week. The Colts are in a situation where one more win gets them into the playoffs and I wouldn’t be shocked if Ballard finishes with 20-25 carries. Indianapolis is going to want to control the clock and with Ballard, they can do that.
Ballard is a very solid choice to start as one of your running backs this week. I think Ballard will finish with over 100 yards yet again this week as he makes a serious run at being the starting running back in Indianapolis next year. At this point of the season, the options that you have on the waiver wire grow very thin so picking up a player like Ballard for this final week makes sense. This is the week to get your best lineup in there and if your running backs are weak, Ballard is a great option.
