Week 16 Fantasy Football: Sit Matthew Stafford

It is the final week of fantasy football for many people this week if they are still alive in their fantasy league. During this final week, there are certain players that are not the best to be starting looking for a championship. There is one player in particular who could ruin fantasy owners’ hopes in the Detroit Lions’ Matthew Stafford.

Stafford had a miserable week last week against the Arizona Cardinals and this week may not be much better with the Atlanta Falcons coming to town. Stafford threw for just 246 yards against a team that has folded their ship for this season and now gets an Atlanta team that is playing for the top seed in the NFC and will be rolling at full strength. This is not a good matchup at all for Stafford even if he is forced to throw the ball around a ton, which is likely to happen.

I would take my chances with some other quarterback this week than Stafford. Stafford has been great all season long and a lot of owners have probably had Stafford leading their team all the way to this point but I’m not sure if going with him for one more week is such a smart idea. It is time to surf the waiver wire and see what else could be had that may bring more points than Stafford. If you have Stafford, remember that the game is on Saturday night so the decision needs to be made even earlier as well.
