You know something? It’s the holiday season and I’m feeling good. Christmas is right around the corner, I’m in a few fantasy championships and the Buffalo Bills are in the playoffs! Oh, wait. They’re not? Must have been dreaming again,
But in all seriousness, I am in a good mood. So, having said that, let’s make some bold fantasy predictions for championship week. This ought to be interesting.
Denver Broncos D/ST will outscore Weeden, Richardson and Gordon
Talk about bold, ehh? Sorry, that was my Canadian accent. Anyway, the Broncos have been the hottest team in football on both sides of the ball. Their defense ranks 4th in all of football and will face an offense ranked 26th. Von Miller will lead a Broncos pass rush that will get after rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden early and often. Trent Richardson, meanwhile, only has 70 rushing yards over the past two games, but has scored four times. I see Denver limiting T-Rich, forcing Weeden to beat them during catchup mode. And as for Josh Gordon? Say hello to Champ Bailey.
Vick Ballard will be a top 10 fantasy RB
Ballard has been very impressive lately, totaling 199 total yards over his last two contests. Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs defense just allowed 199 yards to Oakland Raiders running backs in Week 15. With 27 carries over the last two games, I expect Ballard to continue to get the rock, especially since this game could get out of hand. Ballard will finish with at least 100 total yards and a score.
Tony Scheffler will be a top 1o fantasy TE
Look, you know that Calvin Johnson is certainly going to get his. However, without Ryan Broyles and Titus Young, who else can Matthew Stafford throw the football to? I see Stafford having to air it out around 45 times against the Atlanta Falcons on Saturday night. Megatron will likely draw double coverage, leaving Scheffler as a viable option in the middle of the field. He has also seen a healthy 8.5 targets over the last two games.
