Fantasy Football 2012: Week 16 Disappointing Players
NFL Disappointing Players Week 16
Week 16 of the 2012 NFL season offered its fair share of disappointments. From teams losing to unlikely opponents to elite fantasy options having uncharacteristically-poor performances, this week provided numerous letdowns for the fantasy football owners.
As for some teams who disappointed in Week 16, the biggest upset of the day would go to the Houston Texans. A decent favorite over the Minnesota Vikings, they failed to score a touchdown and consequently were tied with the Oakland Raiders for the lowest scoring performance of the week despite having one of the top offenses in the league. In a game that meant so much for both AFC North teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers also had a disappointing outcome against the Cincinnati Bengals, for their loss took them out of the playoff picture. Other teams who disappointed included the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Jets and New York Giants.
When players have high projected value in any given week due to their recent performances or a favorable matchup, owners are more willing to start them. From Ben Roethlisberger and Mike Wallace to Darren McFadden and Aaron Hernandez, Week 16 had its fair share of duds. Here’s a look at some of the biggest disappointments at each position from Week 16.
