2013 Fantasy Football: Dez Bryant Becoming First Round Pick

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

There are fantasy football owners all around the country who are looking ahead to 2013 now with the 2012 season behind them. There are players that have rocketed up the draft board from their draft position this season. If there is one player that may have reached their potential and could find themselves at the end of the first round, it is Dez Bryant.

Bryant has been on fire the second half of the 2012 season and owners who may have drafted him in the middle to late rounds of their drafts this season got quite a treat in their championship game last week with Bryant’s huge game. Bryant also may have found his way to being the No. 2 wide receiver off the board next season after Calvin Johnson. There aren’t very many receivers who are as dynamic as Bryant outside of Johnson and if owners wanted to start their teams with a true No. 1 receiver, Bryant may be the one to go after.

It looks like Bryant finally had the light bulb go off late this season and his broken finger appeared to make them focus even more. I would safely rank Bryant between No. 8-12 for next season. There are going to be owners out there who want to go with a quarterback or running back in the first two rounds. If an owner is at the end of the first round with a chance to get an elite wide receiver to go with an elite running back like Doug Martin possibly, I would go ahead and take Bryant in that spot.
