Fantasy Football 2013: Dynasty Watch; Dwayne Harris

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver and kick returner Dwayne Harris has been providing the team with explosive plays all season long. Whether it be making a big catch or returning a kick, Harris continues to prove that he belongs with America’s team.

Right now, he has very little, if any fantasy value. However, that does not mean 2013 will be the same. While hey may be the number three receiver on the depth chart now, that could certainly change come next season. Miles Austin‘s future in Dallas isn’t as bright as people assume, not to mention the dude is consistent in the locker room, yet inconsistent on the field. Dez Bryant, meanwhile, is the clear-cut number one option on the Dallas offense, but we have seen him injured quite a few times this season alone.

Harris also can provide fantasy relevance in the return game. In 2012, he ranked 2nd in the entire league in punt return average (16.1). From watching, you can see that his acceleration is insane. As soon as the ball hits his gloves, he is off to the races. Not to mention his speed and elusiveness.

Granted, this is a very, very deep sleeper as of right now. I mean, the guy only had 17 catches and a score the whole season. However, don’t sleep on him. No pun intended. He is quickly expanding his role in that offense and quarterback Tony Romo has been looking his way when he’s out there.

Keep your eye on Harris in 2013.
