Fantasy Football Playoff Challenge: Pick Peyton Manning As Your QB

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

With the 2012 fantasy football season in the books, millions of fantasy junkies will be looking for their next fix. It just so happens that there are sites all over the web that allow owners to keep the game going and play fantasy football throughout the NFL playoffs.

Most systems allow owners to pick one quarterback to ride for the entirety of the playoffs and everyone’s number one pick this year should be Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning.

Manning is absolutely on fire right now and has been the key component of the Broncos’ miraculous 11-game winning streak. He has built an amazing rapport with receivers Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker over the last couple weeks and Manning is finally back to his MVP form.

Denver is also benefitting from the amazing downhill running of the resurgent running back, Knowshon Moreno. Moreno was all but forgotten earlier in the season, but after an injury to starter Willis McGahee, Moreno’s number was called. Moreno has averaged 89 yards a game on the ground in his last four games and has scored three times. The better Moreno runs the ball, the more it will open things up for Manning to work.

The Broncos have to be the heavy favorite to win it all right now. They enter the playoffs as the hottest team and as one of the best all-around teams on football. In playoff leagues, it is always best to grab the quarterback on the team that you think will win big in 2013. This season that quarterback has to be Peyton Manning.

Manning has thrown at least three touchdowns in nine games this season and will likely have some big games in the playoffs this season. Denver may be out until the second round of the playoffs, but rest assured when Peyton finally gets under center, it will be Showtime!
