Fantasy Basketball Stud Performance: Jrue Holiday

There were plenty of standout fantasy basketball performances in the NBA on Wednesday night. One performance in particular, was that of Philadelphia 76ers PG Jrue Holiday, who posted a triple-double against the Phoenix Suns. The 76ers were on the wrong side of the scoreboard, losing 95-89, but Holiday continued his solid play by posting a stat line of: 16 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.

Holiday’s triple-double will certainly please his fantasy owners, but he did shoot 6-16 from the field and committed six turnovers. He was also 3-4 from the free throw line, and 1-3 from long distance. Holiday has been impressive this season, averaging 18.9 points, 8.9 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per game. He currently ranks as the 13th most productive point guard in fantasy basketball and this will more than likely not be his last triple-double of the season.

Holiday is owned in all leagues so if you missed your chance of drafting him, the only way you can acquire him is via trade. If you need scoring or assist help, Holiday is someone to look into. However, he must improve on his three point and free throw percentage, if he wants to be considered a truly elite fantasy basketball point guard.

Hard to believe, but this was the first time the Suns have claimed victory over the Sixers in nearly 3 years. Their last win against Philly came on February 24th, 2010. It was a wild crowd in Phoenix, packed with Kansas State football fans who are in town for the Fiesta Bowl against the Oregon Ducks on Thursday night. The Wildcat fans could be heard chanting for Kansas State alum, Michael Beasley, to enter the game. They also booed Suns forward Markieff Morris, who played at rival Kansas.
