2013 Fantasy Football: Don’t Forget Frank Gore
There is never an end to the fantasy football season as owners watch every postseason game looking for whom to draft in 2013. There are several running backs that will be high draft picks but there is one that could get drafted later that makes his owners happy. That would be Frank Gore, who may slip through the cracks for some owners thinking that the running of Colin Kaepernick is going to eat into Gore’s value.
Even if Kaepernick does what he has done in the playoffs during the regular season, that doesn’t mean that Gore is going to lose that many carries. Gore should find a way to get more than 1,500 yards in 2013 just because there will be defenders that focus on Kaepernick as opposed to Gore. That makes Gore a very nice sleeper pick in the middle rounds of the draft. I know that Gore won’t slip too far in most leagues but there will be an owner who gets attached to Kaepernick after this playoff run.
If I was drafting for the 2013 season right now, I would have Gore in the third round. There is a great case to draft Gore slightly earlier or later than that, but I think around the middle of the third round is a great spot to take Gore right now. The carries are going to be there no matter what for Gore and if you are paying close attention, you could pick up Gore at a discounted price if he falls in your 2013 draft.
