Fantasy Football Playoff Challenge: TE Tony Gonzalez Will Catch A TD

Daniel Shirey-USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Falcons continue to roll through the playoffs and the main part of their success this season has been the play of superstar tight end Tony Gonzalez.

The Falcons held off the charging Seattle Seahawks last weekend with a final score of 30-28. This was Gonzo’s first career playoff victory in his historical 16-year career and the future Hall of Fame tight end made it count by making countless highlight reel grabs.

Gonzalez finished last weekend’s game against the Hawks with six grabs for 51 yards and one breathtaking score. Gonzalez has always been quarterback Matt Ryan’s first target inside the twenties and this has made Gonzo into a very reliable fantasy football option game after game.

This Sunday the dirty birds will host an electric San Francisco 49ers team in what will be surely be another outstanding playoff game. The 49er linebackers are some of the most athletic in the game and are extremely sound tacklers in the open field. However, if they do have a weakness, it certainly is in coverage.

Gonzo is one of the smartest tight ends to ever play the position, so expect him to get behind linebackers Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman at least once in the playoff game. Gonzo will always be  part of the Falcons’ offensive game plan and will again be heavily involved this weekend. He will get plenty of looks in the red zone and the tight end will have some great matchups to exploit downfield.

Gonzalez will finish the game with around 60 receiving yards, but #88 will grab at least one touchdown in the game. Gonzo will have another huge game in this round of the fantasy football playoff challenge and will once again be dunking the ball over the goalpost.
