Tournament: Waste Management Phoenix Open

Date: January 31-February 3, 2013

Location: TPC Scottsdale - Scottsdale, Arizona

Course Par: 72

Past Winners: Kyle Stanley (2012), Mark Wilson (2011), Hunter Mahan (2010), Kenny Perry (2009), J. B. Holmes (2008), Aaron Baddeley (2007), J. B. Holmes (2006), Phil Mickelson (2005), Jonathan Kaye (2004), Vijay Singh (2003), Chris DiMarco (2002)

Hole to Watch: Hole #3 on The Stadium Course

The TPC Scottsdale is a 36-hole layout with plenty of open space and cacti. However, the third hole is one of the most treacherous on the entire course. The hole is a very long par-5, but the fairway looks more like a skiing mogul run than a fairway. Bunkers riddle the rough down the fairway and there is even a hidden bunker surrounding the entire green. This will easily be one of the most difficult holes and will cause more than a couple golfers to bust out their sand wedge.

Overview:

The Waste Management Phoenix Open (WMPO) has really grown in popularity in recent years and the avid PGA fan can never forget Tiger Woods’ hole-in-one here back in 2008. It has also done wonders for the television viewership of the event, so expect this to be one of the biggest tournaments of the 2013 season.

To help you during your fantasy golf drafts this week, here are the top-10 fantasy golfers attending the Waste Management Phoenix Open:

Brandt Snedeker - Snedeker played beautifully last week and finished 10 strokes under par at the Farmers Insurance Open. However, he was still no match to Tiger Woods, who dominated the Farmers Open once again.
