Fantasy Football Super Bowl XLVII Prediction: Ray Rice Will Gain 100 Yards, Score 1 TD

During the Baltimore Ravens ride through the NFL Playoffs this year, many fantasy football owners have been enamored with the running of RB Bernard Peirce.

However, these same people must remember that the offensive belongs to Ray Rice. The Ravens backfield may seem crowded, but expect Rice to be the main breadwinner in Super Bowl XLVII against the San Francisco 49ers.

Rice only rushed the ball 19 times for 48 yards in the team’s 28-13 victory over the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship. Even worse was the fact that Pierce was able to gain 52 yards on just nine carries, but Rice was still able to score the team’s only rushing touchdown, which is what matters most in fantasy.

In the NFC Championship, the Atlanta Falcons gained a total of 81 yards on 23 carries against the 49ers. They had a very tough time finding room to work against San Fran, so Baltimore may experience more of the same.

However, luckily for the Ravens, Rice is an outstanding receiver out of the backfield. Rice has an amazing set of hands, plus his agility and raw speed let him turn a simple screen into a 40-yard scamper. Rice will be Baltimore’s secret weapon in the passing game.

Rice is still one of the best vision-backs in the game and will find room to work against the vaunted 49ers defense. Rice may not finish with much over 60 rushing yards, but expect his real fantasy impact to come in the passing game. Look for Rice to add around 50 receiving yards and get into the end zone at least once in the biggest game of the year.
