Fantasy Basketball: PG Isaiah Thomas Continues Hot Streak

Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports

The Sacramento Kings are not exactly vying for a Western Conference title right now, but the team is not afraid of letting their young talent log some serous minutes. PG Isaiah Thomas definitely falls into this category, and the guy nicknamed Mr. Irrelevant has been anything but in recent weeks.

Thomas started the season miserably and was one of the most inconsistent point guards in the game. Fantasy basketball owners almost gave up on IT, but he is finally putting up some serious stats across the board.

Thomas got the starting job back from Aaron Brooks on December 28th and hasn’t relinquished it since. In the 27 games he has played since getting the job back, Thomas has averaged 14.4 points a game. He has taken over the Kings offense and has even scored 20 points or more in eight different games.

Amazingly, Thomas has also sunk 46 of his last 47 free throws over the last nine games alone and has been light out from the charity stripe. He is hitting almost every shot that leave his hands, and the kid has been one of the most valuable fantasy players this month.

Thomas will continue to be a great second point guard down the stretch. Don’t hesitate to leave Thomas in your lineup, because he is one of the hottest shooters in fantasy right now.
