FLA: Jacob Markstrom (2.66 GAA, .923 SV%): Markstrom was called up from the team’s affiliate club on Wednesday. He was thought to be the starter for Thursday night’s game against the Flyers, but instead it was Scott Clemensen in the cage. It’ll be Markstrom tonight against the dangerous Penguins, so yeah, you’re not starting him.
PIT: Marc-Andre Fleury (2.34 GAA, .914): After getting the night off on Wednesday night, Fleury will be back in net against the Panthers on Friday night. Despite scoring five times on Thursday night, Florida’s offense still remains one of the weakest in hockey, so Fleury is a good play.
VAN: Roberto Luongo (1.63 GAA, .934 SV%): The goaltending headache lingers on in Vancouver. After a plethora of trade speculations surrounding him, Luongo has been terrific in 2013. Against a Nashville roster with a lack of offensive depth, Luongo is a safe play tonight.
NSH: Pekka Rinne (1.67 GAA, .935 SV%): Rinne has arguably been one of the best netminders this season. He is the only reason that his team is playing at a high level right now and is a must-start night in and night out.
SJ: Antti Niemi (1.86 GAA, .933 SV%): Niemi has been the Sharks’ most consistent player this season. Despite San Jose’s offense being rather sporadic as of late, Niemi has still played very well.
CHI: Ray Emery (2.27 GAA, .925 SV%): It must be fun playing for the Blackhawks lately, no? The Hawks have yet to lose a game in regulation time and with starting goalie Corey Crawford still suffering from an upper-body injury, Emery remains a solid play.
