2013 Fantasy Basketball Keeper Profile: C Al Horford

Joshua S. Kelly-USA TODAY Sports

It’s hard to find a reliable big man these days in fantasy basketball, but one center that has produced All-Star numbers this fantasy season is Altanta Hawks C Al Horford.

In the Hawks 96-92 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, Horford had yet another superstar performance. He scored 14 points and grabbed a respectable 14 rebounds. He finished 7-12 from the field and even added four dimes, all while facing off against superstar center, Dwight Howard.

The duo went back and forth all game, so it is very promising to see Horford go up against the league’s best big man and come out with a rather solid fantasy performance.

In Horford’s last 15 contests, he has exploded with 21.6 points and 11.3 rebounds for fantasy owners. He has also added 3.4 assists and 1.5 blocks per game, so he is doing more than just scoring and rebounding. These are some of the best all-around numbers in fantasy.

Horford has matured into one of the best centers in the game. He was taken well after the third round this winter, but his 10.1 rebounds per game ranks tenth best in the NBA. He continues to outplay his average draft position year after year.

Horford will be one of the elite big men in fantasy next season as well. He will be a great second round pick in 2013 drafts and will be an absolute steal any time after that.
