Fantasy Basketball Playoffs: PG Ricky Rubio Ready For First Round

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

Many fantasy basketball owners simply forgot about Minnesota Timberwolves PG Ricky Rubio earlier this year, since he was scheduled to miss the first couple months while he recovered from an ACL tear. Rubio fell to the bottom half of many drafts and the point guard was even on the waiver wire in some smaller leagues.

In recent weeks, however, the young Spaniard has completely dominated the fantasy world. Rubio is averaging a gaudy 13.2 points, six rebounds, 7.7 assists, and 2.5 steals per game this month. He is doing everything for fantasy owners and is filling the box score like one of the top point guards in the game.

Here is a look at Rubio’s schedule this week:

3/26/2013 – Minnesota Timberwolves @ Detroit Pistons

3/27/2013 – Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Los Angeles Lakers

3/29/2013 – Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

3/30/2013 – Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Memphis Grizzlies

After a brief scare last week with a possible groin injury, Rubio retuned to action the very next game. He has always had a brutal injury history, but at this point in the season you only need him for a couple more games.

Rubio is playing amazing basketball as we head into the playoffs and will benefit from an extra game this week to rack up stats for fantasy owners. Look for the 22-year-old to have a huge performance in this round of the fantasy playoffs and help plenty of owners get to the next round.
