2013 Fantasy Baseball: Take A Shot On OF Coco Crisp

The Oakland Athletics really wanted OF Coco Crisp to develop into a more reliable leadoff hitter and the 33-year-old hasn’t disappointed so far through the 2013 season.

Through eight games this year, Crisp is batting a robust .343. He is hitting everything that crosses the plate and has become an amazing wavier wire find for fantasy baseball owners.

Coco has also shown some unexpected power in the young season, as he has already smashed four home runs and driven in six runs. His career-high in home runs was 16 back in 2005 with the Cleveland Indians, so his sudden power surge comes as a bit of a shock to fantasy owners.

Crisp has been able to get on base in front of his teammates all year and has crossed the plate 13 times already. He is currently leading the team in home runs, RBIs, and runs scored. The veteran is on his way to having a career fantasy season.

Crisp went undrafted in almost every league this past spring, but has quickly shown that he can put up reliable numbers in roto-leagues. He is worth taking a shot on in deeper leagues, especially while he is on such a hot-streak. The veteran will obviously cool down at some point, but he is worth an outfield spot in daily leagues while he is on such a tear.
